FAQs.

  • How much does it cost?

Perch charges a flat fee, never a percentage of a new hire's salary. The fee is determined upfront based on the seniority of the role and aligned to one of three hire levels: Specialist, Manager, or Executive. Get in touch and we will walk you through what that looks like for your specific search.

  • How long will the process take?

Every search is different, and timeline depends on a few factors — the seniority of the role, the local talent market, and how quickly your team is able to move through the interview process. That said, most searches reach an accepted offer within 4 to 8 weeks from kickoff.

We are transparent about timeline expectations from the start and will keep you informed throughout so there are never any surprises about where things stand.

  • What if I hire someone and they don't work out?

Every placement made by Perch comes with a 90-day replacement guarantee. If a hire does not work out within the first 90 days, we will reopen the search at no additional cost. We stand behind the work we do and are committed to getting it right.

  • Can I work with you and other firms too?

Yes, absolutely. We understand that some searches require casting a wide net and you are never obligated to work exclusively with Perch. That said, we do find that searches tend to move faster and produce better results when there is a dedicated partnership in place. If you choose to work with multiple firms, just let us know upfront so we can align on expectations from the start.

  • Are there any other recruiting services you offer to that cost less?

Yes. In addition to our core search services, we offer Fractional and Embedded Recruitment as well, both of which operate on a retainer or project basis rather than a per-placement fee. For companies that need ongoing recruiting support without the cost of a full-time internal hire, these can be a more cost-effective option depending on your hiring volume and needs.

If you are not sure which service model makes the most sense for your situation, we are happy to talk through it and point you in the right direction, even if that means a different approach than you originally had in mind.

  • Why don't I just use Zip Recruiter or some other online tool?

Online tools and job boards can work well for high volume or entry level hiring. What they cannot do is think critically about your business, build relationships with passive candidates, or tell the difference between someone who looks right on paper and someone who will actually thrive in your environment.

Perch brings judgment, local market knowledge, and genuine investment in the outcome that no algorithm can replicate. We are not trying to get a resume in front of you as fast as possible. We are trying to find the right person.

For straightforward roles, a job board might be exactly what you need and we will tell you that honestly. For roles where the right hire really matters, that is where we come in.
